Hearing The Strokes~Take It Or Leave It
It has been ages since I have done a real post. I don't have an excuse. I wasn't exceptionally busy or anything...I guess I just wasn't feeling it. I got lost in the world of Facebook and Twitter for a while. What a total time suck that can be...lol!
I have done a few posts recently on my other blogs here and here. Check em out!
Things in Nebraska are finally feeling spring like. I was getting really tired and depressed with the no sun and super cold weather. I feel like I haven't taken my Uggs off for months.
Since I haven't really done a real post with real pictures since the Christmas entry I am gonna play catch up now. Hold on to your hats...I have LOTS of pics!!
January was COLD!
So cold in fact we had to get more firewood!!
The Prince was as smiley as ever.

Jill was still staking her claim to Hubby's side of the bed.

I discovered the joy of wearing a scarf.
AND Hubby and I had our first date night of the year (for one of my New Years Resolutions)!!
Look at me all ready to go out (scarf and all)!
Plus I took off the Uggs and put on my big girl boots!
We had a great time. We went to a restaurant we had never been to before called Marks Bistro. The food was fabulous (For my entree I for mac & cheese...it was seriously the best mac & cheese I have EVER had!!) and the ambiance was perfect. It is a smaller restaurant and it was pretty dark.
Very romantic mood lighting.
February is a fun month for us!
Jill was still being Jill.
We got a huge snow/ice storm and had a snow day which postponed The Prince's school Valentine party until the Monday after Valentine's Day.
He didn't mind!
We had a great family Valentine's Day filled with love and laughter.
As a gift The Prince and Hubby made a garden stepping stone for me.
We went to Chili's for lunch...YUMMY!
And had heart shaped pizza for our family Valentine dinner!
The Prince had a fun month.
He had grandma time.
IMAX in 3-D time.
And a very fun time at Zio's Pizzeria.
The pizza dough and such is made fresh on the premises so it takes a while to get your food...so they give kids pizza dough to play with while they wait.
And play he did!
Hubba Hubby and I celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary!!
Our yearly picture for our anniversary scrapbook.
We went out to Dinker's Bar & Grill (best burgers in Omaha!) with the inlaws for dinner on our actual anniversary and had February date night that weekend~the inlaws took The Prince for a sleepover! ;) We were going to go to the Melting Pot but could only get a reservation at 5:00 or 8:00...ummm...no thanks...so we went to Mahogany Prime Steakhouse. We went there last year (and the year before) for our wedding anniversary and always enjoy it. We got the private wine room again. Very quiet and romantic!! The food was fabulous and we had a great time!
Notice the scarf!
March has been great thus far!!
We've done some lounging.
The Prince has been working out.
Jill has been enjoying the weather.
Hubby and I had March date night at P.F. Chang's.
But the big news is The Prince had a birthday! He is now a BIG 9 YEARS OLD!!!
We had a family party the weekend before his birthday.
This is an ice cream cake from TCBY. I had spent hours baking and decorating a chocolate banana cake. I put the cake outside to set the frosting. I came back 10 minutes later and a WILD CAT WAS EATING MY CAKE!! I was so upset and just tossed the cake in the trash. Hubby though I should've taken a picture of it but I was so furious about the whole thing that I didn't think I wanted a reminder.
It was still a good cake.
On his actual birthday, I sent cookies up to school for a snack.
We went to Red Robin for dinner.
Then came home for cake and present. Yes, present as in one present...a really big present. The Prince really wanted this big Lego set. Hubby and I talked and decided we would go ahead and get it for him but that would be all he would get. We didn't even have a friend party for him...just the big present.
He didn't mind! Look at his face!!
Jill is not amused.
I made another chocolate banana cake...no decorations this time.
We did let The Prince spend his birthday money on whatever he wanted.
There you go. Three months packed into one entry!
I have been busy the last week putting together our home office. I will definitely be posting about that soon!!

Oh my goodness! Bless your heart about the banana cake. I would love to have seen a picture of the wildcat eating your cake.
Your family is lovely. Happy birthday to the Prince.
That must have been one really hungry cat. I'm sure your cake was yummy, but kitties don't go for sweet stuff. I'm so sorry that PRince didn't get the wonderful cake though, but it sounds like you all had a great time. Date nights are wonderful, aren't they?
Thanks for the update entry-And Happy eAster.
